Our Story
Bridging The Gap, Restoring The Mission
The Problem We Saw
In 2026, the statistics are startling: while the VA manages over $12 billion in medical equipment, thousands of items—from wheelchairs to hospital beds—are lost or underutilized annually due to inventory gaps. Meanwhile, right here in the Augusta area, over 59,000 veterans call the CSRA home, many of whom face 15% disability rates and wait months for the adaptive gear they need to lead active, fulfilling lives.
The aghr solution
Veteran-Led Conviction
Augusta Global Health Relief (AGHR) was founded on a simple, veteran-led conviction: Medical surplus is not waste—it is an untapped resource for recovery. Based in the heart of Richmond County, we operate at the intersection of environmental sustainability and veteran wellness. We intercept high-quality medical equipment that would otherwise be destined for a landfill, refurbish it to clinical standards, and place it directly back into the hands of those who served.
Veterans Serving Veterans
We are more than a warehouse; we are a workforce. AGHR is staffed and led by veterans who understand that the mission doesn't end when the uniform comes off. By employing transitioning service members to manage our logistics and equipment repair, we provide more than just gear—we provide a continued sense of purpose and technical certification in the growing field of medical logistics.
Our Dual Impact
1. Local Mobility: Our Medical Thrift Store provides the Augusta community and underinsured veterans with immediate access to sanitized, low-cost mobility aids. 2. Adaptive Excellence: Through our specialized sports track, we provide high-performance racing chairs and hand-cycles at zero cost to disabled veterans, backed by peer-reviewed research proving that adaptive sports are a critical tool for reducing PTSD symptoms and improving long-term quality of life.
