Augusta, your surplus is a veteran’s independence. We accept high-quality, pre-owned medical equipment to support our local heroes and global relief efforts.
The AGHR “Yes” List
donations we accept
Mobility Aids
Manual wheelchairs (including standard and lightweight models) transport chairs, walkers, rollators, knee scooters, and canes.
Unopened Supplies
Sealed boxes of gloves, gauze, bandages, and incontinence brief (must be 1+ year from expiration).
Bedroom Safety
Hospital beds (electric and manual), pressure mattresses (clean and intact), and bedside rails.
Bathroom Safety
Shower chairs, tub transfer benches, and bedside commodes.
Adaptive Sports
Hand-cycles, racing wheelchairs, and specialized sporting gear for persons with disabilities.

what we can not accept
Used Consumables
Any opened packages of tubing, needles, or dressings.
Power Chairs And Scooters With Dead Baatteries
We only accept motorized units that are currently functional and include a charger.
Prescription Medications
We are not a pharmacy and cannot accept any drugs (OTC or RX).
Oxygen And Respiratory
Oxygen tanks, CPAP and BiPAP machines, or nebulizers (Due To Strict FDA and HIPAA regulations).
Broken Or Rusted Items
Equipment with structural rust, torn upholstery, or missing safety components.
Donation Preparation Checklist
Before you drop off or schedule a pickup, please ensure:
Sanitization
Wipe down all surfaces with a 10% bleach solution or germicidal wipes.
Functionality
Verify that the brakes lock, the wheels spin freely, and all bolts are tight.
Documentation
If you have the original owner’s manual or maintenance logs, please tape them to the device.
The "Photo First" Rule

How To Complete Your Donation
Drop-Off: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at our Richmond County Warehouse.
Scheduled Pickup: We offer free veteran-led pickups for large items (Beds and Power Chairs) within a 25-mile radius of Augusta.
Tax Receipt: AGHR is a 5019(c)(3) nonprofit. You will receive a formal “Gift-In_Kind” receipt for your tax records upon donation.
